James L. Haneline, 55, of Wood River, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at his residence.
Born on June 11, 1960, in Jerseyville, he was the son of Betsy (Booth) Wallace of Alton and the late Virgil Haneline.
James had been a self-employed mechanic for 40 years.
Surviving are his mother; stepfather, Clyde “Tex” Wallace of Alton; two daughters, Jennifer Haneline of Wood River and Nichole Cleaveland of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Sabrina and Andrew Kopp, and Leigha Torres; four sisters, Deborah Stagner of South Roxana, Cheryl Scoggins of Alton, Lynne Stewart of Godfrey and Mary Spence of Shipman; and special friends, Donavon and Ronda Weber.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Janice Mason.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, in Upper Alton Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at the Alton Moose Lodge.
Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
