James Martin Wolf, 75, of Granite City, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at Alton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Alton.
He was born on July 31, 1939, in Thornfield, Mo., a son to Martin and Verma (Trent) Wolf.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran who proudly served his country.
On Jan. 11, 1964, Jim married Karen Humphrey, the love of his life in Madison.
Jim had retired from Spectralite Consortium Inc. as a machine operator after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist in Granite City. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing card games and board games. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Jim will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Wolf; one brother, Glynn Wolf; and one sister, Mary Ann McDowell.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Karen Wolf of Granite City; two dear children, Andy (Valerie) Wolf of Bear, DE and Shawn (Paul) Reagan of Pontoon Beach; mother, Verma Wolf of Granite City; one brother, Marion (Pat) Wolf; three grandchildren, Kristiana (Matt Stamps) Wolf, Dustin Wolf and Amanda (Matt Speece) Canady; two great-grandchildren, Jaydien Stamps and Silas Speece; sister-in-law, Laura Wolf; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City.
In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Irwin Chapel Granite City, with Pastor John Oswald officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Alton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 3523 Wickenhauser Ave., Alton, IL 62002 in care of Ashley Kline and will be accepted at the funeral chapel, www.irwinchapel.com.
