James Moss Inman, 89, of Roxana, went home to be with the Lord at 12:17 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
He was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Clinton, Ky., to the late John R. and Rachael (Miller) Inman.
On Oct. 14, 1945, he and Gladys M. Ireland were united in marriage in Corinth, Miss. She survives in Roxana.
Mr. Inman retired from the Roxana Schools maintenance department after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Family of God Church in Wood River.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sherry (John) Dryden of Quitman, Texas; two granddaughters, Tammy (Pastor Mike Jr.) Maxon and Tracey (Steve) Hill; 10 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a brother, Ruben Inman of St. Louis.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Mae Inman Hester and Betty Jean Inman; and a brother, Paul Edward Inman.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Paynic Home for Funerals with the Rev. Bob Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery.
