James R. “Jimmy” Hudson, 20, of Granite City, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, in Greenville, Mo.
He was born Oct. 20, 1995, in Maryville, the son of James W. and Angie (Helm) Hudson. Jimmy was a student attending Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He was a 2014 graduate of Granite City High School, where he was active with the golf team and was on the National Honor Society. He enjoyed traveling, watching movies and being with his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by his cherished sister, Brooke Hudson of Granite City; grandfather, John Helm of Greenville, Mo.; great-grandmother, Trella Helm of Wappapello, Mo.; aunts and uncles, Tammy and Todd Hancock of Puxico, Mo., Eric and Jamie Helm of Puxico, Mo., Jon and Mindy Helm of Fredericktown, Mo., Ken and Linda Schmitt of Bedford, Texas, Sharon Fox of Crawfordville, Fla., Kathy Hubbard of Granite City, Karen Hudson of O’Fallon, Mo., and Dan Hudson of Granite City; many special cousins; other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Brenda Burchard, James and Mercedes Hudson and Rosalie Thacker Hudson.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, with the Rev. Ken Schmitt officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
