Janette M. Kwiatkowski, 77, of Granite City, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1937, in Chicago, a daughter to the late John and Evelyn (Corbet) Cepek.
Janette was a longtime cashier at Kmart in Oaklawn, Ill., and a homemaker. She was of Catholic faith and will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family.
She is survived by and will be missed by her husband, John J. Kwiatkowski, who she married on Sept. 8, 1962; her son, James and (Stacey) Kwiatkowski of Glen Carbon; her daughter, June and (Richard) Derucki of Plainfield; grandchildren, Laurine Kwiatkowski and fiancé (Darren Robinson), Jameson Kwiatkowski, Lilly Kwiatkowski, Heather Kwiatkowski and fiancé (Michael Patrick), Courtney Derucki and Rachell Derucki; great-grandchild, Laila Robinson; brother, Phil Cepek; and sister, Joan Dolar.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Jack Cepek.
In celebration of her life, friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, with a service at 7 p.m. with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
