Jean Ann Vrenick, 87, of Granite City passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Stearns Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Granite City.
Jean Ann was born Oct. 25, 1927, in Muskogee, Okla., a daughter to the late Henry and Clara (Scanell) Fabian.
Jean Ann was a lifelong homemaker, mother and wife. She was an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where she was a sponsor of the Junior Service; a member of Ladies Solidarity; volunteered countless hours to Octoberfest and the funeral luncheon committee. She will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her husband of nearly 65 years, Theodore “Ted” Vrenick; her sons, Thomas and (Terrell) Vrenick of Baton Rouge, La., John Vrenick of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Steven and (Colleen) Vrenick of Troy; grandchildren, Richard and (April) Daspit, Ryan Vrenick, Rachel Vrenick, Joseph Vrenick, Josh Vrenick, Jim Vrenick, Jessica Vrenick, Sean Vrenick and Courtney Vrenick; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Daspit and Alyssa Daspit.
In addition to her parents, Jean Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Fabian; and her sister, Betty Jo Kozer.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of her life, services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, with Fr. Chris Comerford officiating at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2300 Pontoon Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to the Dementia Society of America.
