Joanne Vera Mashburn, 66, of Moro, passed away at 6:48 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.
She was born Feb. 21, 1950, in Washington, Mo., the daughter of Arthur F. and May E. (LaBoube) Wilmsmeyer.
Joanne married William Elmo Mashburn in Union, Mo., on May 27, 1972. He survives.
Joanne was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of Family of God Church in Wood River. Joanne was a devoted Christian, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. and Carrie L. Mashburn and two grandsons who she loved very much, William J. “B.J.” Mashburn and Timothy “Tim Tim” A. Mashburn, all of Wood River; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Albert and Alice Wilmsmeyer of Kodiak, Tenn., and Delbert “Nick” Wilmsmeyer of Findley, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Jim” Wilmsmeyer and Bob Wilmsmeyer.
Visitation will from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
