John Bellovich, 75, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 20, 1940, in Litchfield, the son to Pete and Angeline (nee Lansing) Bellovich. He married Roberta Hall June 19, 1986, in Madison. John was a devoted husband and father. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. John was retired from Sarah Community Assisted Living in St. Louis.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Bellovich of Granite City; five children and their spouses, Michelle (Dave) Murphy of Granite City, Rebecca (Tracy) Slater of Cuba, Tamie (Kyle) Buehrer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Pete (Natalie) Bellovich of Page, Ariz., and Corey (Denise) Bellovich of St. Louis; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Keel of Caseyville; and a brother, Richard (Donna) Bellovich of Mitchell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Sonya Bellovich and Lisa Bellovich; son, Johnny Bellovich; two brothers, Jerry and Pete Bellovich; and a sister, Shirley Denson.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at Wojstrom Funeral Home and Crematory with Knights of Columbus service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Jeffry Holtman as Celebrant.
