John Glen Duncan, 81, of Granite City, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Stearns Nursing and Rehab Center, Granite City. Glen was born on March 4, 1934 in Bee Branch, Ark., a son to the late John and Lillie (Mahon) Duncan.
On Nov. 7, 1992, Glen married June (Dudley)Becherer in St. Ann, Mo.
Glen was a dedicated Shriner of the Moolah Shrine and YOMA Unit in St. Louis; he was also a past president in 1980. He had retired from Lou Fusz Dealership in Ellisville, Mo., as a parts manager after many years of dedicated service. Glen enjoyed sports and was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and Rams fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. Glen will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Glen was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Estel, Jerry and Ralph Duncan.
He is survived by his devoted wife, June Duncan of Granite City; loving children, Allan (Mary Kay) Duncan of Hazelwood, Mo., Pam (Kevin) Munro of Wentzville, Mo., Mark (Debbie) Becherer, Diane (John) Prazma, Michael (Deborah) Becherer, Tom Becherer, Janet (Mark) Price and David (Karen) Becherer, all of Granite City; dear sister, Joyce Bowen of Memphis, Tenn.; proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City.
In celebration of his life, a memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Joe Becherer officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to Parkinson Research Foundation and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
Glen’s family would like to extend a special thank you to his granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amanda Duncan Kudelka and James Kudelka, for the loving care they gave to Glen.
