John H. Dailey, 87, of Bethalto, passed away at 7:25 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton.
He was born on April 28, 1927, in Tamms, Ill., the son of William and Josephine (Rendelmen) Dailey.
He married Dallas E. Flock on Nov. 2, 1946, in Meadowbrook. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2008.
John served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He worked at the Alton Box Board for 30 years until his retirement in 1978. He loved to travel, hunt and fish.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Cazadd of Branson, Mo., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son-in-law, Edward Cazadd; six sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Military rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel.
