John L. Ceppenati, 47, of Godfrey, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on June 30, 1967, in Alton, the son of John Anthony and June (Smith) Ceppenati.
John worked out of the Labor Local No. 338 in Wood River, enjoyed farming and was a member of the National Cattleman’s Association.
He was a big-hearted man, had a great since of humor and enjoyed life to the fullest.
John is survived by a son, Guy Ceppenati; his mother, June Ceppenati; two brothers, Larry Ceppenati (Rhonda Sheppard) and Peter “Tony” Ceppenati, all of Godfrey; a sister and brother-in-law; Annette and Blake Pazero of Dow; two nieces, Nicole Pazero of Dow and Danielle Pazero of Jerseyville; and a nephew, Blake Pazero of Dow.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Anthony Ceppenati, on Sept. 30, 2014.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of funeral at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton with Fr. Peter Donohoe officiating.
Cremation rites will follow.
Inurnment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.
