John “Trick Daddy” and the original “Pete” was born on Sept. 17, 1965, in Carrollton. He was an avid motorcyclist and knife collector. He will be remembered for his humor, generosity and for being a free-spirited individual and many, many exceptional times with family and friends.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife and soulmate, Katie Mielke of Granite City; his mother, Patricia (Turner) Stimson of Elsah; his three beloved sons, John Mielke Jr. of Granite City, Feron Mielke of Mississippi and Zach Mielke of Granite City; his precious grandchildren, John Mielke III, Jaden Mielke, Jada Mielke of Granite City and Ashtyn Mielke of Union, Mo.; his sister, Patty Arnold of Granite City; his half-brothers, Charles “Joe” Mielke of Granite City, Michael Mielke of Dow, and Nathan Lee Wolf of New Orleans; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grover and Elizabeth Turner; his father, Eugene Mielke and stepfather, Douglas Stimson.
John’s wishes were for no memorial services and for his family and friends to remember him as he was and not to mourn his end in this life, but to celebrate his new journey.
