Joseph H. Pfaff, 84, of Godfrey, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Carlinville, the son of Joseph H. and Reba (Fite) Pfaff. He married Shirley Nelder on Aug. 30, 1952, in Godfrey, and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2014.
Joseph had retired from Roberts Motors after more than 20 years in the service department. He enjoyed Cardinals baseball, NASCAR, woodworking, and working on cars.
He is survived by two daughters, Joey and Mark Gibbs of Alton, and Michelle and Daniel Cline of Godfrey; two grandchildren, Amber and James Haring of Alton, and David Wadlow of East Alton; two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Garrett Haring; two brothers-in-law, Carl Bedwell and Gene Stifel, both of Florida; four sisters-in-law, Eileen Scheffel of Godfrey, Margaret and Arthur Davidson of Godfrey, Billie and Ed Groshan of Wisconsin, and Barb Nelder of Virginia; and many other relatives and friends; and a sincere thank you to the owners, employees and friends of the Ranch House, with whom Joe enjoyed his daily visits.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; and two sisters, Revella Bedwell and Delores Stifel.
Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Services will be private with the Rev. Roy Gibbs officiating.
