Joseph Ray Hollis, 39, of Granite City, died at 8:22 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Dec. 29, 1975, in Macomb, the son to Thomas R. Hollis of Granite City and the late Lou Ann E. (Mullen) Hollis.
Joe had a certificate in Water and Waste Water Treatment from E.R.T.C. at SIU and interned in Macomb. He was also a journeyman in the sheet metal trade. Joe enjoyed fishing and target practicing. He loved music and played guitar and drums. He loved his family and enjoyed being with his daughter.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Autumn E. Hollis of Granite City; a sister, Anna E. and George Palmer of Libertyville; grandparents, Glen R. and Lora M. Hollis of Granite City; aunts, uncles, niece, Elaine L. Palmer; and nephew, John Thomas Palmer of Libertyville.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dale and Mary Mullen.
