Juanita J. Williams, 74, of Granite City, passed away at 6:08 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at her residence at the Fountains in Granite City.
She was born Jan. 29, 1941, in Blytheville, Ark., a daughter of the late Calaway and Etta (Abbott) Wigginton. Juanita was a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Granite City, where she enjoyed volunteering her time for various functions, especially TWIGS and FIGS. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Rev. Lisa Guilliams and members of Trinity United Methodist Church and the entire staff at the Fountains for their love and compassion shown to Juanita and her family.
In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David A. Williams Sr.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Chrissy Modrusic; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Ike Parker; stepchildren and spouses, David and Vivian Williams Jr., Keith and Jackie Williams, Nora and Jesse Montijo and Susan and John Shatto; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Tom Jones; other extended family and friends.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, with the Rev. Lisa Guilliams officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Collinsville.
