Juanita Mae McCarty, 80, of Granite City, passed away at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, in Belleville.
She was born May 30, 1934, in Chester, a daughter of the late Robert and Treva (Penn) Moore.
She married Harold M. “Mac” McCarty in 1952 and he passed away on Jan. 29, 2011.
Juanita was a homemaker and enjoyed working with crafts. She loved being with her grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Treva (McCarty) Dickerman Stephens, and husband, Richard, of Belleville; three grandchildren, J. Camille Dickerman, Jason Dickerman and wife, Katie, and Amanda Helfer; one great-granddaughter, Iris Dickerman; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Murray McCarty; and a sister, Mary Kelley.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at noon Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, with the Rev. Mark Maynard officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
