Judith E. Roberson, 67, formerly of Prairietown, passed away unexpectedly at 1:11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 29, 1948, in Alton, the daughter of Elmo and Allie (Plegge) Weishaupt.
She married David Roberson on June 24, 1967, in Prairietown. He survives.
Judy was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member and was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the choir and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of CMA, GWRRA Chapters “E” and “O” and the “Prairietown Babes” Bunko Club. She enjoyed traveling, watching “I Love Lucy,” was the No. 1 St. Louis Cardinals fan, but most of all, her greatest joy was her eight grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 48 years, she is survived by a daughter, Sarah (Jeffrey) Detton of Collinsville; a son, Douglas (Joy) Roberson of Bethalto; eight grandchildren, Jessica (Travis) Dudley, Allen Detton, Brooke Prott, Brianne Prott, Arielle Detton, Isaac Detton, Allie Roberson and Logan Roberson; her sister, Virginia (Charles) of Edwardsville; an aunt, Charlotte Heeren, who was also her godmother; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant twin sons.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue from 9:30 until service at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Skeesick officiating.
Burial will follow at Prairietown Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
