Judith Lynn Richardson, 63, of Granite City, passed away at 3:53 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at her home.
She was born Sept. 7, 1952, in Granite City, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Bunia (Shelton) Talley. She married Robert E. Richardson Jr. on Sept. 22, 1972, in Granite City and he survives.
Judith was employed at Magnesium Elektron with 45 years of dedicated service as a lab technician and receptionist. She was a member of the Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City, enjoyed her time with the Do Nothing Club and was a 1970 graduate of Granite City High School. She enjoyed crafts and her days of traveling and cherished her grandchildren. Judith will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carrie and Justin Shrum and Emily Simpson; three grandchildren, Lily Shrum, Cali Shrum and Cole Simpson, all of Granite City; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Debbie Talley of Coffeen, Ill.; nieces and nephew, Rochelle and Phil Hill of South Lebanon, Ohio, Cindy Talley of Granite City, Alyse Richardson of Granite City; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Josh and Jodi Hill of Minneapolis, Minn., Andrew Talley of Granite City and Allie Richardson of St. Jacob, Ill.; mother-in-law, Christina Richardson of Granite City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Vicki Richardson of St. Jacob, Ill.; other extended family and many friends.
In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ron Corey; a nephew, Kelley Corey and father-in-law, Robert Richardson Sr.
In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be 4 p.m. until time of memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City with the Rev. Mike Rayson officiating.
