Karen M. Nooter, 67, of Alton, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Alton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Alton.
She was born Sept. 4, 1948, in St. Louis, the daughter of John and Roberta (Barton) Nooter.
Karen worked for the state of Missouri as a legal secretary for 12 years.
She was a skilled typist and enjoyed arts and crafts, making cards, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her parents, John and Barbara Nooter of St. Louis County, Mo.; mother, Roberta Nooter of Alton; four siblings and their spouses, Jim Nooter of Bismark, Mo., Bruce and Lindsay Nooter of Arnold, Mo., Laura and Allen Mann of Lake Sherwood, Mo., LeRoy and Joyce Nooter of St. Louis County, Mo.; uncle, Robert Nooter of Washington, D.C; two nephews and their spouses, Daniel and Courtney Mann of Wentzville, Mo., and David Mann of Columbia, Mo.; and many friends from Marion Heights.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Nooter; grandmother, Flora Mahony; and grandparents, Harry and Roma Nooter.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, with Allen Mann officiating. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until time of service Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at the funeral home.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
