Keith A. Brown, 59, of East Alton, went to be with our Lord at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born March 3, 1955, in Springfield, the son of James and Freda Brown.
He married Trudy Cook and she survives after 33 years.
Keith served his country in the Army National Guard for a number of years and continued his service to his community by serving as a Boy Scout leader. He loved playing the guitar and loved it even more while playing the guitar with his son, Tyler. He also loved to gamble at Ameristar playing Wicked Witches.
He is survived by a daughter, Angelia Ortiz, and her husband, Daniel, of Oldsmar, Fla.; two sons, Tim Brown and his wife, Crystal, of Bethalto and Tyler Brown and his fiancée, Sara, of Bethalto; his loving grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylynn and Trinity Brown; his siblings, Bruce Brown and his wife, Maria, of Houston, Texas, Raymond Brown and his wife, Carol of Girard, Doug and Lisa Brown of Auburn, Ill., Kelly Grady and her husband, Tom, of Girard, Ill., and Scott Brown of Magnolia, Texas; a sister-in-law, Terrie Skelton of Wood River; his brothers-in-law, Tom Cook, Ted Cook and his wife, Joline, and Toby Cook, all of East Alton and his aunt and uncle, Wanda and Tim Dorris of Johnston City.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents; a brother, Mark Brown; his in-laws, Roy and Blanche; and a niece, Toni Lynn Vandee.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until services at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Tim Drury officiating.
