Wayne Keith McCaslin, 83, of St. Louis, went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015.
Keith loved the Lord with all his heart, his mind and his soul. He was a faithful servant, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The legacy he has left reaches far beyond his physical family.
Keith was born July 2, 1932, in New Castle, Penn. He graduated high school from New Castle and graduated from Slippery Rock University, Johnson Bible College and Lincoln Christian Seminary. During his time at Johnson Bible College, Keith married Elizabeth Chambers on Aug. 3, 1957. He preached for congregations in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and Missouri before becoming a professor at St. Louis Christian College in Florissant. After 44 years, Keith retired from teaching at the college.
Keith is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth "Liz" McCaslin; their children, Margaret (Mel) Schuchardt and Walter (Carol) McCaslin; grandchildren, Sara (Brian) Mullholland, Courtney (Greg) Anselmo, Dale (Brianda) Schuchardt and Jonni McCaslin; and great-grandchildren, Madison Mullholland and Mallory Mullholland.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at the First Christian Church, 160 E. Lorena Ave, Wood River. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2015, at the First Christian Church. Steve Revisky will officiate.
Internment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to either First Christian Church or St. Louis Christian College.
