Larry Biermann, 74, of Florissant, Mo., passed away at 12:58 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis after a yearlong battle with cancer.
He was born July 16, 1940, in St. Louis, the son to John and Carrie (nee: Breuer) Biermann.
Larry retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad in October 1995 after 36 years. He served in the United States Army. He was an active bowler and golfer. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family members.
Survivors include his sister, Carol (Ray) Wahlbrink of Louisville, Ky.; six nieces and three nephews, Karen (Bill) Walkenhorst, Diane (Rob) Sellers, William (Vickie) Biermann, Bob (Michelle) Biermann, Nancy (Kenneth) Noe, Sharon Wahlbrink, Karen (Ronald) Fehn, Joan (Michael) Kolb, and Allan Lucchesi; brother and sisters-in-law, Jerry Lucchesi, Marian Biermann and Eunice Biermann; numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews; godson, Andrew Winn; and special friends, The Winn family of Granite City.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Milton and Cliff Biermann; three sisters, Sandra Biermann, Dolores Twellman and Janet Lucchesi; and two nephews, Henry Jr. and Carl Biermann.
A visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City with Father Chris Comerford officiating.
