Lenard A. Hartman, 56, of Bethalto, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, with his family and friends by his side.
He was born Nov. 21, 1958, in Alton, the son of Robert and Geraldine “Geri” (Pollard) Hartman Sr.
Lenard worked at Olin Corporation for more than 20 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, camping in Otterville, working in his flower and vegetable gardens and most of all he loved his two dogs, Zeus and Bear.
He is survived by his father, Robert, of Godfrey and his mother, Geri, of Wood River; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Romona and Paul Smith of Rosewood Heights and Victoria Fischer of Washington, Penn.; a brother, Robert Hartman Jr. and John Kamp of Grafton; a stepsister, Gwen Vollintine of East Alton; a stepbrother and his wife, Neil and Beverly Darr of Kane; eight nieces and nephews, Brandon and his wife, Tiffany, Matthew, Jacob, Tonya, John, Rebecca, Michel and Shawn; four great-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Deloris Hartman.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services at noon Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
