Lillian P. Little, 92, of Granite City, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born on Dec. 17, 1922, in Madison, a daughter to the late Lambro and Sophia (Kondoff) Turpenoff.
Lillian was a longtime laborer at National Steel, retiring in 1984, and a member of Sts. Cyril & Methody Eastern Orthodox Church in Granite City.
She will be remembered for her kind heart and all of the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her son, James Proffitt of Alton; her grandchildren, Lori and (Michael) Henderson of Granite City, Susan and (Frank) Blacharczyk of Shiloh, Cynthia and (Patrick) Delaney of Sauget, Yvonne and (Chris) Lait of Mercer, Penn.; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne R. Briddick; and her brothers, Bill Turpenoff and Louis Turpenoff.
In celebration of her life, friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, with the Rev. Andrew Moulton officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Nameoki Road in Granite City. Memorials are suggested to the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
