Lonnette Fay “Lynn” Howland, 49, of Edwardsville, passed away at 10:53 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Aug. 4, 1965, in St. Louis, a daughter of the late Eddie Lee and Doris G. (Anderson) O’Dell Sr. She married Steven R. Howland on April 10, 1988, in Granite City and he survives. Lonnette was a dedicated and loving waitress and manager at Uncle Linny’s Family Restaurant in Pontoon Beach, where she has made many friends throughout her 15 years of service. She was a member of City of the Lord Church in Pontoon Beach and loved her days of shopping, playing cards and Yahtzee and cherished spending times with her grandbaby. She always had to watch the news and loved drinking her coffee. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Kimberly O’Dell of Granite City; a daughter and daughter-in-law, Crystal and Crystal Howland of Fenton, Mo.; her granddaughter, Elexis O’Dell of Granite City; a brother, Eddie L. O’Dell Jr. of Mitchell; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Gayla Jackson of Granite City, Corrina and Randy Ross of Collinsville and Rhonda O’Dell of Hawk Point, Mo.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce Pertee and Bob Preston of Granite City; many special nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved parents, she was preceded in death by her Grandma and Grandpa Anderson and Grandma and Grandpa O’Dell and a niece, Samantha Gale Ross.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, with the Rev. Clint Wisdom officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
