Louise Marie McKinnon, 90, of Granite City, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at her home while under hospice care.
She was born April 6, 1926, in Missouri, the daughter to the late Warren and Arlene Phelps.
Mrs. McKinnon had been a cook for many years with Maryville School and later retired as a custodian from Grigsby Middle School.
Survivors include a brother, Virgil “Bud” (Judy) Phelps of Granite City; sister-in-law: Betty (Junior) Doyle of Dixon, Mo.; nieces, Brenda (Walter) Phillips of Granite City and Donna Ridgeway of Neelyville, Mo.; great-nephews, Richard Ridgeway of Neelyville and Jason (Kacy) Phillips of Granite City; great-great-nephew, Jacob and great-great-niece, Kayleigh Phillips, both of Granite City.
Besides her husband, Charles McKinnon, and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Juke Phelps and Billy Simmers; and a nephew, David Phelps.
Graveside services were Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
