Lynne Ellen Christenson, 59, of Louisville, Ky., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015.
She was employed at Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives and was an active member of the National County Market Board, where she served 15 years on the board and was National President eight years. Lynne was on the national board of the American Women of Radio and Television, and an active member of Black Acre Nature Reserve and was their consultant for the last five years. She also enjoyed painting in the Kentucky Watercolor Society. Lynne was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and Eastern University.
Lynne’s greatest legacy will carry on as the Lynne Christenson Award of Excellence, which will be awarded by the National Board of NCM each year.
Lynne was born on Jan. 23, 1956, in Alton, the daughter to the late Walter and Jacqueline (Joehl) Breyfogle. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Jake Bartlett.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ted Christenson; brother, John Bartlett of Edwardsville; brothers, Jeff Breyfogle of Blue Springs, Mo., Eric Breyfogle of Independence, Mo.; stepbrother, Steve Bartlett of Tampa, Fla.; uncle, Don Breyfogle of Las Vegas, Nev.; and an aunt, Carolyn Bumbacher of Alton.
Services were through Newcomer Funeral Home, Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Ky.
A celebration of Lynne’s life was held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at the funeral home.
