Margaret L. McCauley, 89, of Shipman, died at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, at Willow Rose Rehabilitation and Health Center in Jerseyville.
She was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Jersey County, the daughter of the late James E. and Frances H. (Coleman) McCauley.
Margaret worked at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shipman. She loved her church and family. She was known for helping everyone.
Survivors include four sisters, Anna Famer of Brighton, Dorothy McCauley of Brighton, Mary Geisler of Jerseyville, Dorothy Baker of Shipman and Frances Gabriel of Alton; two brothers, William McCauley and George Farmer of Brighton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters, Marie Anders, Jessie Huber, Mary Wieland, Viola McCauley, Betty Lake, Edna Bounds and Ruth St. Peters; three brothers, Harry Farmer, George Farmer and James McCauley; and one nephew, John St. Peters, who was killed in Vietnam.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.
Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton.
Father Bill Kessler will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery in Shipman.
Memorials may be made to the Masses.
