Margaret Louise Meadows, 67, of Bethalto, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Carolina Specialty Hospital in Pineville, N.C. She was born on Jan. 13, 1948, in Blytheville, Ark., the daughter to the late Leonard Foster Meadows and Helen Melvin Meadows.
Margaret graduated from Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey with an Associate’s Degree in Science and worked at St. Alexius Hospital in St. Louis as a Lab Technician. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed going to games as often as possible. Margaret loved going camping and trout fishing with her family at Heber Springs, Ark., and she also enjoyed traveling to Mexico.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three uncles, Delbert Meadows, Cecil Meadows and Arthur B. Meadows; one aunt, Lillian Merryman; and a niece, Kathy Teutken.
She is survived by her daughter, Mara Welch of Charlotte; a granddaughter, Sara Welch of Charlotte; a sister, Linda Haynes of Bethalto; an aunt, Jackie Meadows of Camden, Ark.; a niece, Jolene Harshbarger and family; two nephews, Justin Haynes and family, and Michael Haynes and family, both of Illinois; and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Life will start at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Loyal Order of the Moose in Wood River, (730 Wesley Drive, Wood River, IL 62095).
