Margaret Nina Foley, 90, of Madison, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at her home.
She was born June 23, 1924, in Hickman, Ky., the daughter of the late Millard and Myrtle (Duesch) Jefferson. She married Charles William Foley on June 6, 1942, in Union, Mo., and he preceded her in death. She and her husband owned and operated Foley Venetian Blind Company in Madison for over 40 years. She was a devoted and faithful member of Concordia Lutheran Church where she was active with the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed her days with her Traveling Truckers walking club, gardening, dancing and working jigsaw puzzles. She had a special love for animals and always was ready to share a joke and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. She is survived by daughter, Kathleen (Ted) Meyer of Hollywood, Fla.; son, Mike (Tammy) Foley of Madison; daughter, Patricia Sansone (Jared Barton) of Olathe, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Brian (Tania) Skinner, Robert (Megan) Skinner, Charles Foley, Chad (Evie) Sherlock, Kelly Barton, William Sansone and Julie (Herb) Sapp; eight great-grandchildren, Sara, Mason, Bryce, Parker, Gray, Remi, Ava, and Hudson; two brothers, Ray (Nell) Jefferson of Shiloh and Kenny (Mel) Jefferson of Cottage Grove, Ore.; sister-in-law, Tillie Jefferson of Baldwin; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James “Jr.” Jefferson. In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Feicho officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights.
