Mark Daniel “Critter” Crader, 51, of Bunker Hill, died at 7 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at St. Clare’s in Alton.
He was born Jan. 21, 1963, in Alton to the late Samuel and Glenda (Rush) Crader.
On April 24, 1992, he and Neva Beth Miller were married in East Alton. She survives in Bunker Hill.
Critter was a truck driver for Hamel Steel Service for 26 years until illness forced his retirement. He loved spending time with his family, walking the woods mushroom hunting, fishing, NASCAR and football games.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepson, Jason (Rachael Hymer) Glenn of St. John, Mo.; four daughters, Leslie (Brandon Shaw) Crader of Alton, Markie (Sean) Snead of Iberia, Mo., Ariel Crader and Brandie Crader of Bunker Hill; four grandchildren, Kyleigh Brown, Brayden Shaw, Emma Glenn and Abigail Shaw; six brothers, Leo Payne of East Alton, Samuel Delbert Crader of East Alton, David (Sue) Crader of Manteno, Ill., Doug Crader of Meadowbrook, Steve (Kim) Crader of Bunker Hill and Harley (Donna) Crader of Jerseyville; and three sisters, Deborah (Clay) Donaldson of Wood River, Janey Coleman of Centreville and Kathryn Stark of Litchfield; and all his “rental kids.”
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Paynic Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating.
Memorials may be made to the family for the benefit of his children.
