Mark John Theis Jr., 31, of Wood River, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
He was born Nov. 6, 1983, in Karlsruhe, West Germany, the son of Kimberly (Basore) Thomas and Mark Theis Sr.
Mark was a super fan of the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals and an all-around sports fanatic. He was also a musician as a bass player who had an incredible love for music.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by a son, Cameron Thornton of Wood River; fiancée, Danielle Webster of Belle, Mo.; two brothers, Derrick (Kacie) Thomas of Wood River and Timothy Theis of Granite City; one sister, Melissa (Heywood) Gidcumb of South Roxana; two stepsisters, Sandie Biggs and Candle Taylor of Granite City; stepfather, Brian Thomas; mother- in-law, Davine Webster; grandfather, Vallie Basore; and nieces and nephews, Jeremy O’Gara Jr., Skylynn Valle, Justis Theis, Noah Thomas, Brandi Gidcumb, Ashley Gidcumb, Damien Niederer, Trislynn Webster and Tara Webster.
He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Don Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to the family to help offset the funeral expenses.
