Mary C. Dickson, 90, of Granite City, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in Granite City.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1924, in Bear Spring, Tenn., the daughter of the late John Mathis and Amelia Beasley.
She married Thomas E. Dickson on Sept. 29, 1942, in St. Charles, Mo. He preceded her in death.
Mary worked in the credit department at Famous Barr for 18 years, retiring in 1984.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, JoAnn and David Cook of Granite City, Diana and Tony Hargis of Glen Carbon and William Tom and Tina Dickson of Moro; sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta and Michael Palmer of Montgomery City, Mo.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, sister, Madge Selph; brothers, John William and Melvin Mathis; and her twin sister, Martha Dixon, who passed away the same day.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home in Granite City. The Rev. Henry Crippen will officiate.
