Mary D. Kissel, 86, of Granite City, died at 4:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Granite City Nursing and Rehab in Granite City.
She was born on April 10, 1928, in Madison, the daughter of the late Clarence Clay Sr. and Minnie Key.
She married Kenneth L. Kissel on Oct. 8, 1946, in St. Louis.
Mary was a telephone operator for more than 25 years.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Alma) Kissel Jr. of St. Louis and Barbara (Michael) Poznanovich of Granite City; grandchildren, Michael Poznanovich Jr., Ami Yawberry, Francesca and Xavier Henderson; sister, Barbara Hargrove; and brother, Floyd Clay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, David Kissel; brother, Clarence Clay; and sister, Edna Williams.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home in Granite City.
Services will be at noon Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville and officiated by Fr. Jeff Holtman.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville.
