Mary E. White, 54, of Granite City, formerly of Portland, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015, at her home.
Mary was born Feb. 11, 1961, in Granite City and had worked for numerous restaurants in the region as a general manager. She had a kind and generous heart and would help anyone she could. Mary will be remembered for her hard work ethic and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her dad, Wilbur Charles White of Granite City; her sisters, Sandy and (David) Wood of Granite City, Dee and (Louis) Cionko of Granite City; her brother, Richard White and (Becky Andria) of Troy; niece, Dawn and (Brian) Weatherly of Granite City; nephews, David and (Anne) Margrabe of Sauget, Joel Cionko of Granite City and Justin Cionko of Granite City; great-niece, Claire; and great-nephew, Aiden.
Mary was preceded in death by her mom, Dorothy Mae (Heaton) White.
In celebration of her life, a memorial gathering will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, with Pastor Mark Powell officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorials are suggested to Unity Baptist Church or BJC Hospice.
