Mary Lou Harrison, 69, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.
Mary was born on Dec. 26, 1944, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late James and Marcella (Keller) Begley.
Mary was a member of the class of 1962 at St. Catherine Laboure in St. Louis and of the Catholic faith. In her free time she enjoyed traveling while riding with her husband on their motorcycle, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her husband; Joseph “Joe” Harrison, whom she married on Feb. 7, 1975; sons, James and (Tammy) Harrison of Glen Carbon, Joel and (Pamela) Harrison of Glen Carbon; daughter, Janet and (Mitch) Hamilton of Moline, Ill.; grandchildren, Taylor Altenberger, Amanda Harrison, Jimmy Harrison, Madelyn Harrison, Claire Harrison, Chloe Harrison and Ryan Harrison; and sisters, Jane and (Richard) Schmitt, Ellen Masnika.
In celebration of her life, a memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, with a service at 7 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be directed to BJC Hospice.
