Mary M. Pogorelac, 94, of Madison, died at 12:27 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
She was born Sept. 10, 1920, in Granite City, the daughter of the late Joseph Nemeth and the late Barbara Svoboda.
She married Steve J. Pogorelac on April 19, 1947, in St. Joseph Church in Granite City. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1973.
Mary was employed by Ravanelli’s for 25 years and was a member of St. Ann’s.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Kulasza and Carol (Andy) Mathes of Granite City; son, Charles (Becky) Pogorelac of Columbia; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Kulasza, Rachel (Randy) Borror, Tyler Kulasza, Lauryn Kulasza, Jason (Marilyn) Mathes, Steve (Kara) Mathes, Chad (Christy) Pogorelac and Chelsea (Jim) Medek; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, three brothers and a son-in-law, John Kulasza.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at Thomas Saksa Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, with Fr. Manny Cuizon officiating.
Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
