Mary “Rosie” Rosetta Pavish, 87, of East Alton, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Integrity Nursing Home in Wood River under the care of Unity Hospice.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1928 in Raleigh, Ill., the daughter of the late Charles Esco and Mary Etta (Garner) Wiseman.
She married Paul Pavish on Feb. 11, 1978, in East Alton. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2015.
Rosie moved from Raleigh and worked at a sewing factory before becoming a crew leader at Owens-Illinois Glass, from where she retired. She spent her winters in Okeechobee, Fla., and her summers at Carlyle Lake. She enjoyed fishing and sewing.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Klader of California; five stepchildren, Danny (Martha) Pavish of Colorado, Larry Pavish of Indiana, Julie (Ken) Hendricks of Indiana, Bobby Pavish of East Alton and Earl (Kim) Pavish of Godfrey; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Sara Blair of East Alton; and a special niece, Kimberly Berry of Wood River.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Tom Underwood; a grandson, Tyler Underwood; and a brother, James Wiseman.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Terry McKinzie officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
