Melissa “Lisa” Cardin, 35, of Overland, Mo., formerly of Granite City, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.
Lisa was born Aug. 22, 1979, in Belleville, a daughter to Sammy and Mary (Oberlender) Cardin Scott. Lisa worked as a housekeeper at the Econo Lodge in Woodson Terrace, Mo. She loved animals and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kind heart and all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her mom and stepdad; Mary and (Bob) Scott of Mesa, Ariz.; her children, Darren Sparks of Overland, Mo., Alex Sparks of Overland, Mo., Thomas Sparks of Overland, Mo.; boyfriend, Arthur “Sparky” Sparks of Overland, Mo.; brother, Sammy Cardin of Mesa, Ariz.; stepbrother, Sammy Cardin of Granite City; and stepsister, Janell Parker of Granite City.
In celebration of Lisa’s life friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, with Pastor Clint Wisdom officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
