Melvin “Corky” L. Reynolds Jr., 70, of Cottage Hills, passed away at 7:18 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at home with his family by his side.
He was born on May 8, 1945, in Alton, the son of Melvin L. Reynolds Sr. and June Tucker.
Melvin married Linda K. Steed on Dec. 19, 1981, in Cottage Hills and she preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 1998.
He served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War and was a member of the Bethalto Masonic Lodge, where he served as the Grandmaster. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites and a Master Mason.
He is survived by five siblings and their spouse, Lena and Robert Gills of Havana, Ill., Sadie Reynolds of Cottage Hills, James and Sharon Powers of Bethalto, Tom and Linda Reynolds of Wood River, and Belinda Combs of Jonesboro, Ark.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Marie; and a brother, Ed Combs.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 19, 2015, at Gordon Moore Park in Alton.
