Michael E. Forsting, 65, of Bethalto, passed away on Friday evening, March 6, 2015, surrounded by his family at home while under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1949, in Alton, the son of the late Gene and Lila (Scoggins) Forsting. He married the former Ann Schneider on June 13, 1986, in Wood River and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nichole and William Moseley of Moro; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Derek and Kara Forsting of Alton, Marc Forsting of Bethalto and Matt Forsting of Bethalto; four grandchildren, Andrea Forsting, Alex Jones, Hanna Forsting and Carson Forsting; one sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Reggie Middleton of Woodburn; one brother, Terry Forsting of Hartford; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and other extended family and friends.
Michael was formerly employed as a driver for more than 20 years at Hansen Trucking in Jerseyville. He loved hunting, fishing, and all types of sports. He loved to race and enjoyed watching racing on the television.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be 9 a.m. until time of memorial Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2014, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. Father Tom Liebler will be the celebrant. Private inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto or to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
