Mildred Louise Rippe, 84, of Granite City, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015, with her family by her side.
She was born Nov. 13, 1930, in Alton. She married Robert Earl Rippee Sr. Sept. 4, 1948, in St. Louis and he preceded her in death in 1979.
Also preceding her death were her parents, Bertha I. Allsman and Addie (nee: Matthews) Mitchell; two sons, Thomas and Steve Rippee; two sisters, Bertha Lafferty and Jenny Allsman; brother, Jacob Allsman and great-grandson, Lucas Aaron.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Reava (Gary) Aaron of Granite City, Robert “Bill” (Helen) Rippee Jr. of Mcleansboro, Ill., and Rhonda (Jim) Mayo of Granite City; daughter- in-law, Sam Rippee of Granite City; 15 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Allsman of Arizona and sister, Evelyn Porter of Alton.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
