Nancy L. Williams, 82, of Granite City, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Saint Louis University Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born May 17, 1933, in Piggott, Ark., a daughter of the late Leo and Oma (Cochran) Lawrence.
Nancy was a member of Calvary Life Church in Granite City and a dedicated homemaker. She was a caring and loving wife, mom and grandmother who had a kind heart. She will be remembered for all the special times she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by and will be missed by her children, Gary and (Carol) Williams of Mercersburg, Penn., Richard Williams of Imperial, Mo., Linda and (Rich) Smith of Marathon Island, Fla., Sandra and (Dale) Hicks of Granite City, Gilbert and (Renee) Williams of Red Bud, and John and (Kelli Anderson) Williams of Bowling Green, Mo.; niece, Sheila Pendley; nephew, Michael Westbrook; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Williams; and her sisters, Joyce Westbrook and Betty Mace.
In celebration of her life, friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City with Pastor Mark Maynard officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
