Odessa Marie Denny, 81, of Wood River, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at her residence.
Born in Nebo on Aug. 10, 1933, she was the daughter of Ray and Dona B. (Howland) Lansdon.
Odessa had worked as a machine operator for Olin, 34 years before retiring in 1996.
On April 28, 1951 in Pike County, she married Fred Denny Jr. He died Feb. 5, 2000.
Surviving are three sons, Fred A. (Cindy) Denny, Phillip E. Denny (Gina Baker) and Michael R. (Lisa) Denny; three daughters, Judith L. Metheny, Karen S. Dale and Theresa A. (Kevin) Schneider; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Connie) Lansdon; and three sisters, Sue Ulrich, Inez (Dennis) Kuhn and Wanda Wreath.
Preceding in death were her parents; husband; son, Lawrence R. Denny; five brothers, Harold Tavernier, Lyndle, John, Burdell and Lawrence Lansdon; and a sister, Mary Ann Lansdon.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. The Rev. Michael Southcombe will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
