Opal L. Turner-Ritchie, 57, of East Alton, passed away at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Saint Louis University in St. Louis.
She was born July 3, 1958, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Sidney and Wanda (nee Nolan) Turner.
On Dec. 21, 2011, she and Monte Ritchie were married in Wood River.
Opal worked for Advantage Nursing in Glen Carbon in home care. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and the most perfect Nene.
She is survived by her husband, Monte Ritchie of East Alton; mother, Wanda (nee Nolan) Turner of Bakersfield, Calif.; three daughters, Jamie (Donald) Bryant of Greenville; Janice Maruquin of San Antonio, Texas; Tina Ritchie of East Alton; son, Joseph Turner of Greenville; seven grandchildren, Liam, Michael, Zoe, Sydney, Makena, Douglas and Landon; four brothers, Larry Turner, Perry Turner, Terry Turner and Ronnie Johns, all of Bakersfield, Calif.; and three sisters, Nellie Denmon of Kilgore, Texas, Joyce Knoukse of Montgomery, Penn., and Patti St. Johns of Euless, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her father, Sidney Turner; son, Jeffrey Turner; two brothers, Jerry and Richard Turner; and two sisters, Sylivia Barksdale and Velva Posey.
