Otis G. “Bud” Gosnell, 79, of Granite City, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1936, in Granite City, a son of the late Otis E. and Gladys (Lowe) Gosnell.
Bud was a longtime self-employed Realtor and owner and operator of BMS Construction, specializing in residential and commercial construction. He was a member of the Granite City Elks Lodge No. 1063, past President of the Granite City Lions Club, Granite City AmVets and attended Heritage Church in Pontoon Beach. In his free time, Bud enjoyed watching all sports and playing golf or a good game of bowling. He will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife, Sandra F. (Robertson) Gosnell, whom he married on Aug. 24, 1973; his daughters, LaDon and (Bruce) Van of Clearwater, Fla., Shari and (Keith) Schafer of Gerald, Mo., Melanie and (Eric) Czerniejewski of Plantation, Fla.; grandchildren, Lisa and (Matt) Croasmun, Traci and (Jordan) Andrews, Hannah Czerniejewski, Cole Czerniejewski, Zachary Schafer and Jeramia Schafer; great-grandchildren, Jude Andrews, Ryder Andrews and Finley Croasmun; brother, Richard and (Loretta) Gosnell; sister, Peggy Morelan; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. In celebration of Bud’s life, services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, at the funeral home with Richard Gosnell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
