Patricia Pilcic, 95, of Granite City, passed away at 2:23 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
She was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Wood River, a daughter of the late Peter and Pauline (Cakmak) Cavic.
She married John Pilcic on April 28, 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1987.
Patricia had worked for Carp’s Clothing and General Store in Granite City with many years of service as a clerk and a seamstress. She retired as a clerk from Frank’s Shoe Store in Wood River after several years of service. She was a member of Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in South St. Louis, where she was active in the choir. She enjoyed tending to her yard, planting her flowers and her days of traveling. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Pilcic of Lancaster, Calif., Martin and Charlotte Jean Pilcic of Rosewood Heights and Ben and Sandy Pilcic of Bunker Hill; one daughter, Barbara Bailey of Troy; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Helen Cavic; other extended family and friends.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandchild; and three brothers and three sisters, Sam, Louis, George, Ann, Mildred and Mileva.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, from noon until 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014.
Visitation will continue at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, with Father Ljubomir Krstic officiating.
