Paul M. McAfee, 91, of Shipman, died at 3:35 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, on his farm in Shipman.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1923, in Lincoln, the son to the late Kenneth and Bertha Mae (Cathorall) McAfee. Paul was a dairy farmer.
Paul married Clarabel “Pug” (Brooks) McAfee on April 9, 1947, in Carlinville. She died on April 6, 1997.
They are survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Mike Luecking of Springfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Pam McAfee of Shipman; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Wilma Trill of Alton; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene “Pete” and Pat McAfee of Chesterfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, Norma Wood, Lucille Bridges and Clara Yard; and one brother, Richard McAfee.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton. The Rev. Mark Scandrett will officiate.
Burial will take place in Brighton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Piasa Birds 4-H Club.
