Paul Pavish, 87, of East Alton, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton.
He was born March 10, 1928, in East Alton, the son to the late Leo and Oneita (Rohr) Pavish.
Mr. Pavish was co-owner and operator of Pavish Concrete in East Alton until 1978. He and his wife were avid dancers. They loved fishing and camping and spending their winters in Okeechobee, Fla., and summers in Carlyle.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rosetta “Rosie” (Wiseman) Pavish of East Alton; five children, Danny (Martha) Pavish of Colorado, Larry Pavish of Indiana, Julie (Ken) Hendricks of Indiana, Bobby Pavish of East Alton and Earl (Kim) Pavish of Godfrey; stepdaughter, Kathy Kladar of California; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Dolly Diuguid of East Alton; and two brothers-in-law, David Young and Bill Taul Sr.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Tom Underwood; a grandson, Tyler Underwood; a brother, Leo Pavish Jr.; and four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Alice and Walt Carlyle, Mary and Bob Oris, Anita “Lou” Young, Rosalie Taul and Richard Diuguid.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at Paynic Home for Funerals. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
