Peggy Ann Johnston, 82, of St. Peters, Mo., and formerly of Granite City, died at 10:07 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis, Mo.
She was born March 21, 1933, in Union, Ky., a daughter of the late Tommy and Grace (Fulkerson) Sparks. She was working as a greeter and associate with Walmart in O’Fallon, Mo. She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Byford Wayne Johnston and Benjamin Lewis Bradley; one son, Mark Johnston; one daughter, Julie Ann Johnston; two brothers, Jack Sparks and Jeny Sparks; two sisters, Jean Launius and Betty Purkaple.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Judy Johnston of The Villages, Fla., and Ray Johnston of Florida; daughter-in-law, Tina Johnston of Granite City; one stepson, Raymond Bradley of Sunset Hills, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Trish Higgins of Cleveland, Ohio, and Kimberly Bradley of Smithton, Ill.; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Kathy and John Jaros, Karla and Bill Davis, Joyce Badgett and Greta Brown; other extended family and many friends.
In celebration of her life and in accordance to her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
